In the summer, when homeowners are focused on outside projects, we get numerous questions about property boundaries and fencing. Many local governments require a property survey before issuing a permit. Please check with your local building department. Failing to do so may cause you to have to take down your fence if it encroaches on your neighbor's property. Both the CAGIS link and the Aerial Imagery link show approximate boundaries. Only a surveyor reading the legal description on your deed can mark the exact property boundary.
